Digvijaya Singh

Digvijaya Singh (brought into the world 28 February 1947) is an Indian lawmaker and a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. He is additionally right now a General Secretary of the Indian National Congress gathering’s All India Congress Committee.

Personal Life

Digvijaya Singh was conceived in Indore in the past august province of Holkar (presently a piece of Madhya Pradesh) of British India, on 28 February 1947. His dad, Balbhadra Singh, was the Raja of Raghogarh (under Gwalior State), directly known as Guna area of Madhya Pradesh, and an individual from the Legislative Assembly (MLA) as free contender for the Raghogarh Vidhan Sabha voting public after the 1951 elections.

He was taught at The Daly College, Indore and the Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS) Indore, where he finished his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.

Since 1969, he was hitched to Asha Singh, who passed on in 2013, and with whom he has four girls and a child. In April 2014, he affirmed that he was involved with a Rajya Sabha TV grapple Amrita Rai, they wedded in late August 2015.

 



Controversies

1. 1998 Multai Farmer Massacre

In 1998, 19 to 24 ranchers were shot dead by Madhya Pradesh police. Digvijaya Singh was Chief Minister of the state at the time and the People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) reprimanded him for capturing ranchers leaders.

2. Batla House debate

A remark by Digvijaya Singh in 2011 prompted contradictions inside his gathering.
