Prakash Javadekar

Prakash Keshav Javadekar, Indian Politician. He is Member of BJP. Currently, serving as Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate change. And, Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting. He is Member of Rajya Sabha from Maharastra in 2008 & 2014. Javadekar is an official spokesperson of BJP & Modi Government. He led the Indian Delegation in 2015 UN Climate Change Conference.

Early Life

Prakash Javadekar was Born on 30 January, 1951. Born in Pune, Bombay State, India. He is Married to Dr.Prachee Javadekar.

Education

He has a Degree in B.Com (Hons) from University of Pune.

Political Career

Became Active in Politics during his college days. He became member of ABVP. During Emergency (1975-77), Javadekar participated in student movements against Government. Even, led a Non-violent movement in Pune & was in arrest for months.

BJP

He Joined BJP, served as National Secretary & General Secretary of BJYM. In 1989, he was incharge of State Secretariat & Mahasabha BJP Campaigns. Thereafter, He served as MLA of Maharastra Assembly from 1990-2002. Then, became Chairman of IT Task Force & Executive President of State Planning Board. Further, he was Incharge of BJP’S Economic Forum Cell .

Rajya Sabha

He was elected to Rajya Sabha in 2008 & re-elected in 2014 from Maharashtra. As an Rajya Sabha Member, he filed a Complaint in CVC. Basically, Prakash Javadekar complained about several discrepancy in Coal Mining. Afterwards, On His request CVC directed CBI enquiry for the same.

He was appointed as Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Environment, Climate Change & Forests by PM Modi. Also, he was Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs. From 2016 to 2019 he also Served as Union Human Resource & Development Minister.
